After
the IARU Reg 1 July contest I worked LY2BAW on 13cm we also tried on
3cm but no QSO on 3cm. Later in the evening I worked a new square on
23cm with the QSO with OJ6KTL. Also SM0ERR join this QSO there all
stations were 59+. Date UTC Call Locator Band km Remark 2010-07-04 1446 LY2BAW KO25IB 2.3G 531 2010-07-04 2049 OH6KTL KP02OJ 1.3G 726 2010-07-04 2054 SM0ERR/OH6KTL JO89WJ 1.3G 352 |
Note
this afternoon nice thunder on Uffe/PA5DD pages and also say that
SM7ECM work many nice QSO on 3cm RS. Quickly I found Anders and worked
him easy on backscatter. But then nothing. At 16z I shall go to a party
but just before party time OK1JKT found me calling CQ on 100 and I got
a second QSO. The party started but I was calling CQ on 3cm hopping for
more and I got more. I also got my first QSO via RS on other band then
3cm when I worked my first 9cm RS QSO, thanks to DL3YEE. On hour late
to the party but happy! This
a monitor the cluster/KST and noted that the thunder was to far away
for any QSO. Instead I tried with LY2VA how is QRV on 23, 13, 6 and
3cm. We made easy QSO on 23 and 13cm but no trace on 3cm of LY2VA. We
made a sked for next morning (see below). Finely there were some
thunder and I got OK1JKT again in log. Date UTC Call Locator Band km Remark 2010-07-12 2017 LY2VA KO14XV 1.3G 492 2010-07-12 2021 LY2VA KO14XV 2.3G 492 2010-07-12 2046 OZ7IGY JO55VO 10G 306 2010-07-12 2048 OZ7IGY JO55VO 3.4G 306 2010-07-12 2107 OK1JKT JO60RN 10G 672 RS |
This
morning I have sked with LY2VA and we made nice QSO on three bands 23,
13 and 3cm. The QSO on 3cm was my second QSO with LY on 3cm but I hope
not the last! Later I worked OZ3ZW with very nice signal on 3cm RS. This
evening I noted a good thunderstorm in JO82DD (464km). I announced this on KST and tried with some DL stations but nil. Then I tried with OK2POI and his signal came in very nice. Work him and also OK2VSO (same station?) both in JN99AJ (776km). Later that evening I monitor the beacons in OH but all were weak or not at all possible to detect. But I found OH3SHF on 9cm with S1 signal and after 10 minute's it have climbed up to S3. This is the second time I receive the beacon and the first recording. Note that it's keying the frequency of the 13cm beacon but that's because it today share the same key logic as the 13cm beacon. During
the evening 3 of August I worked my first 2 meter QSO for many year.
But my stations is not what it shall be with a lot of coax between the
antenna and the radio. This give bad receiver and very little output
power. During that evening I worked some long distance tropo QSO and
late in the evening also heard some stations via aurora. I tried to
work them but no luck. This evening I saw on the DX-cluster that there were some aurora activity so I listen in on the 2 meter band. I found it very empty most because of no preamp. But then I found OH1XT and I called back to him and he responded! What I luck, I got my first aurora QSO with my small setup 6 el yagi and only about 2 Watt of power into that antenna. Nice QSO over 643 km direct path but bit longer with aurora path with my 2 Watt! I will keep the antenna but try to get a preamp and power amplifier in place sometime during the winter or more likely next summer. I
found Torben/OZ3ZW on KST and asked if we can try 23/13/3cm. And yes he
was QRV and we started on 23 cm with an easy QSO. On 13 cm it took some
time before we complete the QSO. When we then QSY to 3 cm I found hime
very fast and we completed the 3 cm QSO with very nice signals. Did the
new 0.9 meter dish help on 3 cm? I not sure but it seems to work nice
so hopefully it will be a little lift on this band. Date UTC Call Locator Band km Remark 2010-08-05 1209 OZ3ZW JO54RS 1.3G 363 2010-08-05 1213 OZ3ZW JO54RS 2.3G 363 2010-08-05 1216 OZ3ZW JO54RS 10G 363 NEW 0.9m dish! |
I
got a new # this evening when I worked SP2MKO in JO93 on 3cm. Nice
signals and I think the rain between us help but not sure. Will be
ingesting to try other times to see how easy it can be to work him
during normal conds. Still not sure how my new antenna on 3cm is
working but this was nice signals. Date UTC Call Locator Band km Remark 2010-08-09 1753 SP2MKO JO93CB 10G 377 NEW # on 3cm, TNX! |
