Technical information
Recoding
I record all audio with my TeamSpeak client program, which I’m using for my remote audio operation. The recording is done in one big “.WAV” file. During a contest I will start the recoding at contest start and let it go the 4 hours. This will produce a big file, about 650 Mbyte.
Edit
To edit the huge file a found a free open source program well fitted for my use. The program is called “audacity” and can be downloaded from http://audacity.sourceforge.net/. Free, open source and good so why search for other program?
MP3 convert
This is the nice part of the “audacity” program. Just install the lame DLL (see documentation at audacity site). Then just mark-up the audio segment you want to convert to MP3 from the huge file and select “Export marked to MP3 file”, so easy and only one program.
Recoding without TeamSpeak
Easy use “audacity” here also!
Easy edit of MP3 TAG information
This can be done in “audacity” also but there are better tools for this work. I have tested MP3TAG program version 2.35, which is a very nice and easy program to use. Free software but donation is welcome.
